Tignale

Tignale is a village on the western shore of Lake Garda, in Lombardy's Brescia province. Set on the slopes of Monte Castello, it overlooks the lake from several hamlets spread between the shoreline and higher ground. The Sanctuary of Madonna di Montecastello, perched on the cliffside, offers one of the area's best-known viewpoints over the lake and draws both walkers and pilgrims. The village lies along the scenic Gardesana Occidentale road and is surrounded by terraced olive groves reflecting a long-standing local tradition of olive oil production. The Prea launch site, above Tignale, is well known among paragliders for flights over the lake.
