Manerba

Manerba del Garda is a municipality on the south-western shore of Lake Garda, in the province of Brescia, Lombardy. It comprises several hamlets, including Solarolo, close to San Felice del Benaco, and the Rocca headland, a rocky promontory offering open views over the lake and home to the remains of a medieval castle and a protected nature reserve. The area is known for its coves and small beaches, such as Punta Belvedere and Porto Torchio, well suited to swimming and water sports like sailing and paddleboarding. The surrounding hills are covered with vineyards and olive groves, producing DOC wines and locally renowned olive oil. The historic centre retains the character of a lakeside village, with narrow streets, local shops and restaurants serving lake fish dishes such as pike and shad. Manerba makes a convenient base for exploring other towns along Lake Garda, including Salò and Sirmione, reachable by car or boat. The mild, lake-tempered climate supports outdoor tourism from spring through autumn.
