Le Castellet

Le Castellet is a hilltop village in the Var department, in the hinterland just a few kilometres from the Mediterranean coast and the seaside towns of Bandol and Sanary-sur-Mer. Its medieval core, with cobbled lanes, ramparts and a château, makes for a pleasant stroll, with open views over the surrounding vineyards of the Bandol appellation. The area is also known for its motor-racing circuit, the Circuit Paul Ricard, which hosts motorsport events and testing and draws racing enthusiasts. The local vineyards, renowned for their rosés and age-worthy reds, offer opportunities for estate visits and tastings. The Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers, supports outdoor activities for much of the year. The coast's proximity allows visitors to combine exploring the village with beach outings or time by the sea. Toulon-Hyères Airport, around thirty minutes away, makes the region easily accessible for both short breaks and longer stays.
