Lundegrend

Lundegrend is a small village in the municipality of Kvinnherad, in Vestland county, in the heart of Norway's Hardanger region, in the west of the country. The area lies along the Hardangerfjord and is close to the Folgefonna glacier, whose ice arms and surrounding national park draw hikers and nature enthusiasts. The relatively mild climate for its latitude, influenced by the fjord, supports fruit orchards in the area, particularly cherries and apples, a traditional activity in the Hardanger region. The landscape is defined by steep mountains descending directly into the fjord's waters, offering scenery typical of western Norway. Not far from Lundegrend lies Rosendal, home to Baroniet Rosendal, Norway's only barony, a historic estate open to visitors. Activities in the surrounding area include mountain hiking, fishing, walks along the fjord and glacier sightseeing. Lundegrend thus serves as a quiet base for exploring the contrasting scenery of glaciers, fjords and orchards that characterise this part of Hardanger.
