Løkken

Løkken is a small seaside town in North Jutland, within the Hjørring municipality of Denmark. Set along the North Sea coast, it is known for its wide sandy beach, where fishing boats are still pulled ashore in the traditional manner, as the town lacks a natural harbour. The town centre retains low, colourfully painted houses typical of Danish coastal architecture, along with a modest range of shops, cafés and restaurants geared towards summer visitors. The surrounding area features extensive dunes and protected heathland, ideal for walking and cycling, as well as a well-regarded golf course. A few kilometres away lies Rubjerg Knude, known for its former lighthouse gradually being swallowed by shifting sand dunes, one of the most recognisable natural landmarks on the Jutland coast. The region has a maritime climate, with mild summers and the strong winds characteristic of the North Sea. Løkken mainly draws families seeking beaches, unspoilt nature and a relaxed seaside atmosphere, typical of Denmark's coastline away from the larger cities.
