Farsund

Farsund is a small coastal town in Agder county, southern Norway, known for its well-preserved historic centre of white wooden houses dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, a legacy of past maritime trade with the Netherlands that has earned it the nickname 'the Dutch town'. The town stretches along a fjord and has an active marina, popular with sailors cruising the southern coastline. Nearby lies the Lista peninsula, characterised by long sandy beaches, dunes and windswept areas favoured by kitesurfers and windsurfers. The Lista lighthouse (Lista Fyr), along with remnants of Second World War military installations, draws visitors interested in the region's history. The area is also known for birdwatching, owing to its location along a significant migratory route. The climate is oceanic, marked by strong winds and changeable weather.
