Tösens

Tösens is a small village in Austrian Tyrol, located in the Oberinntal, the upper Inn valley, close to Landeck and not far from the Swiss border. Set on a sunny slope above the River Inn, the village belongs to the Kaunertal tourism region, known for its glacier reachable within about twenty minutes and its high-altitude ski area open for much of the year. Nearby, the small resort of Fendels offers family-friendly slopes and lifts, along with hiking trails providing views over the surrounding peaks and valley. Traditional Tyrolean architecture, with timber farmhouses and onion-domed church towers, characterises the local buildings. In summer, the area draws hikers and mountain bikers thanks to a network of paths connecting alpine pastures and forests. Tyrolean specialities such as Tiroler Gröstl or Kaspressknödel are served in local inns. The alpine continental climate brings snowy winters suited to winter sports and mild summers ideal for hiking, making Tösens a quiet base for exploring western Tyrol.
