Lenora

Lenora is a small village in the Prachatice district of South Bohemia, set within the Šumava mountain range (the Bohemian Forest). This wooded, mountainous area, partly protected within the Šumava National Park, offers an unspoilt natural setting well suited to outdoor pursuits such as walking, cycling and, in winter, cross-country skiing along the region's many marked trails. Lenora has historical links to the glassmaking industry, which developed in the village during the 19th century, leaving behind a few modest architectural traces from that era. The climate is typically mountainous, with cold, snowy winters and mild summers, making it a destination of interest in both the winter and summer seasons. Its proximity to the Austrian border, along with nearby lakes and rivers, also allows for fishing and swimming during the warmer months. Lenora serves as a convenient base for exploring the surrounding villages of the Šumava region and enjoying a quiet, rural setting far removed from the bustle of the Czech Republic's larger towns and cities.
