Malá Úpa

Malá Úpa is a small mountain village in the Krkonoše range (the Giant Mountains), in north-eastern Czechia, within the Hradec Králové region and close to the Polish border. Recognised as one of the highest-altitude settlements in the country, it spreads across several scattered hamlets along the slopes and valleys, set within a well-preserved landscape of forests and upland meadows. In winter, the resort draws skiers and cross-country enthusiasts thanks to its slopes and lift network, while summer brings walkers and mountain bikers, with easy access to trails within the Krkonoše National Park. The nearby Pomezní Boudy border crossing makes day trips into neighbouring Poland straightforward. A distinctly alpine climate, with long, snowy winters, shapes much of the area's seasonal rhythm.
