Benecko

Benecko is a small mountain village nestled in the Krkonoše range (the Giant Mountains) in the North Bohemia region, not far from Vrchlabí and the better-known resort of Špindlerův Mlýn. Sitting at around 800 metres above sea level, it enjoys an unspoilt natural setting on the edge of the Krkonoše National Park (KRNAP) and serves as a popular starting point for summer hikes up to the surrounding peaks. In winter, the village offers ski lifts and slopes suited to families, along with cross-country trails winding through the region's typical coniferous forests. The atmosphere is quiet and rural, far removed from the bustle of larger resorts, making it a peaceful base from which to explore the Krkonoše at a gentler pace. The surrounding area features numerous waymarked trails, viewpoints over the Czech-Polish mountain range, and a handful of guesthouses serving traditional Czech fare. The mountain climate, with snowy winters and mild summers, draws visitors year-round for both winter sports and outdoor pursuits.
