Cerny Dul

Černý Důl is a mountain village in the Krkonoše range (the Giant Mountains), within the Trutnov district of the Hradec Králové Region, close to the Polish border. Set at the foot of Černá hora (Black Mountain, 1,299 m), it serves as a popular base for winter skiing as well as hiking and mountain biking in summer, thanks to a cable car linking the village to the summit. The local history is rooted in mining, particularly silver and later fluorite extraction, commemorated by a small museum dedicated to the area's mining past. Traditional timber-framed houses typical of the Krkonoše region can still be seen throughout the village. The mountain climate brings cold, snowy winters ideal for winter sports, and mild summers well suited to outdoor pursuits. Černý Důl also acts as a gateway to the Krkonoše National Park, with trails leading up to the surrounding peaks. It appeals to visitors seeking nature, mountain activities and a peaceful setting, away from urban bustle, within an authentic and well-preserved alpine environment.
