Černý Důl/Čistá

Černý Důl and Čistá form a small settlement nestled in the heart of the Krkonoše, the Giant Mountains, in north-eastern Bohemia, not far from Vrchlabí. This mid-mountain area, historically shaped by tin and arsenic mining, has since turned towards nature-based tourism and winter sports. The region enjoys a mountain climate, with snowy winters ideal for alpine and cross-country skiing, and mild summers well suited to hiking. The Krkonoše range, designated a national park, offers a dense network of waymarked trails leading up to peaks such as Sněžka, the highest point in the Czech Republic. The surroundings of Černý Důl and Čistá are also well suited to mountain biking and forest walks, set within a landscape of rolling meadows and coniferous woodland typical of this part of Bohemia. Local architecture retains traces of traditional timber farmhouses, characteristic of rural mountain dwellings in the Czech countryside. The proximity of Vrchlabí provides easy access to shops and services, while the village itself retains a quiet, unspoilt charm, valued for its natural setting and peaceful atmosphere throughout the year.
