Harrachov

Harrachov is a mountain village in the Krkonoše range (Giant Mountains), close to the Polish border in the north of the Czech Republic. The village is well known for its ski jumping hills, including the large Čerťák jump, which hosts international competitions and overlooks the valley below. Harrachov also has a long-standing glassmaking tradition, represented by the Novosad & Syn glassworks, where visitors can watch glass being blown and explore a small museum dedicated to the craft. In winter, the resort offers downhill and cross-country skiing suited to families and more experienced skiers alike, with lifts serving the surrounding slopes. In summer, the area is popular for walking, particularly to the Mumlava waterfall, an easy walk from the village centre, or up to nearby peaks with views across the Krkonoše and Jizera Mountains. Set within a wooded, largely unspoilt mountain landscape, Harrachov makes a convenient base for exploring the Krkonoše National Park throughout the year, combining outdoor activities, winter sports and local craft heritage.
