Bansin

Bansin is a seaside resort on the island of Usedom, in north-eastern Germany, on the Baltic coast. Along with Heringsdorf and Ahlbeck, it forms one of three former imperial resorts linked by a several-kilometre-long seafront promenade lined with villas built in the island's characteristic 19th-century bathing architecture. The town has a pier (Seebrücke) extending out over the sea, popular for strolls and coastal views. The main draw is the wide, fine sandy beach, patrolled in season, dotted with the traditional wicker beach chairs (Strandkorb) available for hire. Usedom enjoys some of the highest sunshine levels in Germany, making it well suited to outdoor pursuits such as cycling, walking and water sports. Its proximity to the Polish border also allows for day trips to Świnoujście. The area attracts visitors throughout the year, with a quieter atmosphere out of season and a livelier one in summer. Local dining tends to feature Baltic fish, particularly herring and smoked salmon, which are common specialities across the island.
