Wremen

Wremen is a coastal village in Lower Saxony, within the district of Cuxhaven, on the North Sea coast, part of the Wurster Nordseeküste region. Bordered by the Wadden Sea National Park, it serves as a popular starting point for guided mudflat walks at low tide, offering views over the tidal flats and local wildlife, including seals often spotted during organised tours. The small harbour still shelters traditional fishing boats, a reminder of the village's maritime past. Wremen's old churchyard is noted for its finely carved baroque gravestones dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, a distinctive example of the region's funerary art. The surrounding landscape features dykes, coastal meadows and a peaceful setting well suited to nature-based stays. Its proximity to Cuxhaven and the wider Wurster Nordseeküste also allows for day trips to other seaside towns along the coast.
