Wisla

Wisła is a small mountain and spa town in southern Poland, nestled in the Silesian Beskids near the Czech border. It is best known as the birthplace of ski jumper Adam Małysz and is home to a ski jumping complex (Malinka), drawing winter sports enthusiasts and cross-country skiers each season. The town also marks the source of the Vistula River, visible at the hamlets of Czarne and Biała Wisełka, a popular starting point for summer hiking trails. The presidential castle, traditionally used as a summer residence by Polish heads of state, is another local landmark. The wooded, moderately hilly surroundings support year-round tourism, combining alpine skiing, hiking and wellness stays. Local cuisine features fresh trout and sheep's milk cheeses typical of the Beskids, such as oscypek. Easily reached from Katowice or Kraków, Wisła is valued for its relaxed atmosphere, spa facilities and proximity to other resort towns like Szczyrk and Ustroń, set within a rural, forested part of southern Poland.
