Falsztyn

Falsztyn is a small village in southern Poland, located in the Spisz region at the foot of the Pieniny Mountains, within the Lesser Poland voivodeship. It lies close to Lake Czorsztyn and the historic castles of Niedzica and Czorsztyn, which overlook the Dunajec valley. The village serves as a convenient starting point for hiking in Pieniny National Park, as well as for traditional raft trips through the Dunajec Gorge, one of the region's best-known outdoor activities. On clear days, the surrounding hills also offer views towards the Tatra Mountains. The mountain climate, with cold, snowy winters and mild summers, supports both winter sports at nearby resorts and summer pursuits such as cycling, fishing and swimming in Lake Czorsztyn. Falsztyn remains a quiet rural village, surrounded by meadows and woodland, typical of the wider Podhale and Spisz landscape. Its location makes it a practical base for exploring this southern part of Poland, combining historic architecture, unspoilt nature and local traditions that remain very much alive in the surrounding villages and small towns.
