Kamionna

Kamionna is a small village in southern Poland, located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, within Bochnia County, in the Nowy Wiśnicz commune. The village is known for Mount Kamionna, the highest peak of the Wiśnickie Foothills, a range of wooded hills stretching south of the Vistula valley. Surrounded by mixed forest, this summit attracts hikers thanks to its marked trails and a viewing tower offering panoramic views over the surrounding hills. The area forms part of the Wiśnicz-Lipnica Landscape Park, which protects a gently rolling rural landscape dotted with orchards, meadows and traditional hamlets. Kamionna lies close to the historic town of Nowy Wiśnicz, noted for its Renaissance-Baroque castle, as well as Bochnia, home to a salt mine listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The climate is temperate continental, with mild summers well suited to outdoor pursuits and cooler winters ideal for woodland walks.
