Ceriale

Ceriale is a coastal town in Liguria, in the province of Savona, on the Riviera delle Palme. It is known for its long sandy beach, one of the more extensive stretches on the Ligurian coast, backed by a pine grove that provides welcome shade in summer. The Le Caravelle water park, located within the town, is a well-known family attraction in the area. The old town retains the Saracen Tower, a medieval structure that recalls the village's defensive past against seaborne raids. Archaeological remains linked to a Roman villa have also been uncovered locally, pointing to a long history of settlement on the site. Ceriale enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate, well suited to seaside activities from May through September. The town lies close to Albenga, an art town with well-preserved medieval architecture, and to Borghetto Santo Spirito, making day trips in the area straightforward. The seafront hosts restaurants and shops offering Ligurian cuisine built around fish and local produce. Ceriale remains a modest yet appealing destination for a relaxed beach holiday on the western Riviera.
