Pula/Krnica

Krnica is a small coastal village in south-eastern Istria, part of the Marčana municipality, roughly twenty kilometres south of Pula. Set among pine woods and rocky coves, this quiet spot is known for its marina, a popular starting point for divers and sailors keen to explore the Adriatic seabed and the shipwrecks scattered along the Istrian coast. Its pebble beaches and small inlets offer a peaceful setting, away from the bustle of larger seaside resorts. Krnica's location also makes it a convenient base for exploring the wider region: nearby Pula is home to its famous Roman amphitheatre, one of the best-preserved in the world, while the town of Rovinj, with its Venetian old town perched on a small peninsula, makes for another worthwhile day trip. The surrounding countryside is well suited to walking and cycling, winding through vineyards and olive groves typical of inland Istria. The Mediterranean climate, with warm, dry summers, supports outdoor activities and alfresco living for much of the year.
