Trget

Trget is a small coastal village on the eastern side of the Istrian peninsula in Croatia, situated at the mouth of the Raša Channel, facing the island of Cres. Once a fishing village, it has retained a peaceful, authentic character, well away from the busier Istrian seaside resorts. The village has three beaches where you can swim in typically clear Adriatic waters; it's worth bringing suitable footwear, though, as both the seabed and shoreline are quite pebbly. The Raša Channel, flanked by wooded cliffs, provides a scenic setting popular for walks and fishing. For dining, the restaurant Konoba Nando is a good choice for local seafood, with its fisherman's platter—featuring fried fish, squid, langoustine, mussels and prawns—particularly worth trying. Trget makes a quiet base for exploring eastern Istria, with its hidden coves, hilltop villages and unspoilt coastal scenery, off the beaten track of the region's more popular tourist routes.
