Mošćenička Draga

Mošćenička Draga is a small coastal village on the Istrian peninsula, tucked at the foot of the Učka mountain range between Opatija and Lovran. Its pebble beach and clear Adriatic waters draw visitors looking for a quieter alternative to the region's larger resort towns. Much of the area's appeal lies in its surroundings: nearby hilltop villages, cobbled lanes and hidden coves dot this stretch of the Istrian coast, offering more secluded spots beyond the main beach. Worth a visit nearby is Brsec beach, particularly for its bar set on a terrace perched above the cove, giving open sea views while offering welcome shade. The coastal path linking Mošćenička Draga to neighbouring villages makes for a pleasant walk past wooded cliffs and turquoise water. The village retains an unspoilt, low-key character, away from the busier, more developed parts of the coast, making it a good base for exploring Istria's classic medieval hilltop villages, several of which overlook the valley from the surrounding hills.
