Lovran/Tuliševica

Lovran is a small coastal town in Istria, part of the Opatija Riviera, lying at the foot of the Učka mountain range. Tuliševica is a residential district of Lovran, set slightly inland on higher ground, offering a quieter setting while remaining close to the town centre and seafront. The town is known for its Belle Époque villas dating from the late 19th century, reflecting its past as a fashionable seaside resort under the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. Lovran is also noted for its centuries-old chestnut trees and its local speciality, the chestnut (maruni), celebrated each autumn during the traditional Marunada festival. The Lungomare promenade runs along the coast for several kilometres, linking Lovran with Opatija and other towns along the shore, and is popular for walking and cycling. The nearby Učka Nature Park offers hiking trails with views over the Kvarner Gulf and the island of Cres. The mild Mediterranean climate, pleasant for much of the year, supports seaside tourism and outdoor activities throughout this stretch of the Croatian coast.
