Novi Vinodolski

Novi Vinodolski is a small coastal town in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar region of Croatia, facing the island of Krk along the Vinodol Riviera. It is best known for its long shoreline, dominated by Zagori Beach, a stretch of pebble and sand that runs for several kilometres and ranks among the longest on the Adriatic coast. The old town, with its narrow lanes and parish church, preserves the memory of the Vinodol Codex of 1288, one of the earliest legal texts written in the Croatian language, commemorated by a monument in the town centre. The harbour and seafront promenade are the heart of local life, alongside numerous campsites and hotels that welcome visitors during the summer season. The mild Mediterranean climate makes swimming possible from May to September. The surrounding hills, covered with vineyards and olive groves, provide pleasant walking routes and a chance to sample local produce, particularly seafood and wines from the Vinodol valley. The nearby town of Crikvenica and the island of Krk add further appeal to the area.
