Pag/Dinjiška

Pag/Dinjiška is located on the island of Pag, in Dalmatia, known for its arid landscapes and wild beaches. A boat trip is a great way to explore the small uninhabited islands nearby, while the town of Pag, with its distinctive architecture, and the neighbouring village of Povljana are well worth a visit. Hikers will enjoy the trail nicknamed "Life on Mars", which crosses a moon-like landscape leading to Rucica and Beritnica beaches. Locally, it's common to enjoy a takeaway pizza straight on the sand, the region's sweet watermelon, fresh white fish dishes, and peka, a traditional dish slow-cooked under an iron bell over embers. The area also makes a good base for further excursions to the Krka waterfalls, Plitvice Lakes, or the city of Zadar, about an hour's drive away, where Karma restaurant is well regarded for its seaside breakfast, pleasant setting and attentive service. Between the sea, scattered islets and striking scenery, Pag/Dinjiška makes an excellent starting point for discovering northern Dalmatia.
