Campitello

Campitello di Fassa is a mountain village in Trentino-Alto Adige, nestled in the heart of the Fassa Valley within the Dolomites. Set beneath the Sella and Sassolungo massifs, it serves as a popular base for outdoor activities throughout the year. In winter, the village provides access to the Sellaronda ski area, well known for its network of slopes connecting several Dolomite valleys, as well as cable cars such as the one leading up to Col Rodella, which offers sweeping views over the surrounding peaks. In summer, the area draws hikers thanks to its extensive network of mountain trails and via ferrata routes. The village retains a distinct cultural identity shaped by the local Ladin community, whose language and traditions remain very much alive in the Fassa Valley. The local architecture, blending traditional alpine chalets with modern tourist facilities, reflects the mountainous character of the region. Regional cuisine draws on typical Trentino produce, including mountain cheeses and cured meats. Campitello di Fassa sits within a well-preserved natural setting, part of the Dolomites, which are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
