Invergarry

Invergarry is a small village in the Scottish Highlands, located in Lochaber, at a crossroads of routes linking Fort William, Loch Ness and the Isle of Skye. This setting makes it a convenient base for exploring the Great Glen, the geological fault line dotted with a chain of lochs, including Loch Ness and the nearby Loch Lochy. The village is known for the ruins of Invergarry Castle, a former stronghold of the MacDonell of Glengarry clan, now accessible to walkers on the shores of Loch Oich. The surrounding area offers plenty of walking opportunities, including sections of the Great Glen Way, a long-distance trail connecting Fort William to Inverness. The landscape of lochs, conifer forests and mountains draws visitors interested in nature, fishing and cycling. As is typical of the Highlands, the climate remains cool and damp for much of the year, with noticeable seasonal variation.
