St-Vivien de Medoc

Saint-Vivien-de-Médoc is a village in the northern Médoc, in the Gironde department, a few kilometres from the Gironde estuary and the Atlantic coast. It lies between the renowned Médoc vineyards and the Silver Coast (Côte d'Argent), with sandy beaches such as those at Le Verdon-sur-Mer and Soulac-sur-Mer around a fifteen-minute drive away. The village retains a distinctly rural character, surrounded by marshland, pine forests and farmland. Nearby Pointe de Grave offers views of the Cordouan lighthouse out at sea, and a ferry links Le Verdon-sur-Mer to Royan across the estuary. The area is criss-crossed by cycle paths connected to the Vélodyssée route, making it easy to explore neighbouring villages and the coastline by bike.
