Meschers

Meschers-sur-Gironde is a coastal town in the Charente-Maritime department, located on the Gironde estuary just a few kilometres from Royan. It is known for its limestone cliffs containing former troglodyte caves, such as the Régulus cave and the Phare cave, once inhabited by fishermen and smugglers. The village retains a typical estuary character, with a small harbour and several beaches, including Plage de la Chapelle and Plage du Nonnat, popular for swimming and walks along the shore.
