Sestri Levante

Sestri Levante is a small coastal town in Liguria, known for its two bays separated by a wooded peninsula: the sheltered Baia del Silenzio and the more open Baia delle Favole. The old town, with its colourful lanes and lively squares, is well worth a wander before or after time on the beach. The town also makes an excellent base for visiting the Cinque Terre, reachable by train or boat, allowing visitors to explore the famous cliffside villages without staying there directly. For a bite to eat, Da Geo pizza & cucina is a popular choice, particularly for its generous, tasty pizzas—ideal after a day of sightseeing or swimming. Sestri Levante generally has a calmer feel than some of its more touristy neighbours, making it a pleasant base from which to explore the region while enjoying an authentic seaside setting. Walkers will also appreciate the coastal paths linking nearby coves, which offer open views over the Ligurian Sea.
