Casarza Ligure

Casarza Ligure is an Italian municipality in the province of Genoa, Liguria, set in the hinterland of the Tigullio area, just a few kilometres from the sea and the coastal towns of Sestri Levante and Moneglia. The surrounding countryside is shaped by hills covered in olive groves and vineyards, typical of the Ligurian agricultural landscape, where olive oil and wine are still produced using traditional methods. The historic centre retains narrow lanes, stone houses and medieval architecture characteristic of inland Ligurian villages, while the hamlet of Bargonasco adds further heritage interest to the town. The mild Mediterranean climate, pleasant for much of the year, encourages outdoor activities such as hiking in the nearby hills or day trips to neighbouring nature reserves.
