Maussane les Alpilles

Maussane-les-Alpilles is a Provençal village nestled at the foot of the Alpilles hills in the Bouches-du-Rhône department, just a few kilometres from Les Baux-de-Provence and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Renowned for its olive oil production, it lies within the Vallée des Baux-de-Provence AOC and is home to several working mills, including the historic Moulin Cornille. The shaded central square, lined with plane trees, brings together cafés and terraces typical of Provençal life, while the weekly market offers local produce, olives and regional cheeses. The village makes a convenient base for exploring the limestone landscapes of the Alpilles, with its hiking trails and cycling routes, as well as nearby attractions such as the Carrières de Lumières and the hilltop citadel of Les Baux-de-Provence.
