Cajarc

Cajarc is a village in the Lot department, nestled in the Lot valley between Cahors and Figeac, within the Causses du Quercy Regional Nature Park. Its limestone houses and narrow streets reflect a medieval past, while the River Lot, which runs through the village, is ideal for canoeing or walking along its banks. The village also has notable cultural significance, having been home to former French president Georges Pompidou, whose legacy is linked to a local contemporary art centre. Nearby, the karst plateau offers geological curiosities, including a sinkhole worth visiting close to the village, popular for an enjoyable and inexpensive nature outing.
