Mijas Costa

Mijas Costa refers to the coastal stretch of the municipality of Mijas, on Andalusia's Costa del Sol, situated between Fuengirola and Marbella. The area comprises several residential and holiday resorts, including La Cala de Mijas, Calahonda and Riviera del Sol, known for their fine sandy beaches and well-maintained seafront promenades. The region is particularly popular among golf enthusiasts, with a number of renowned courses such as Mijas Golf, El Chaparral and Calanova Golf Club, set within the rolling landscape typical of the Mediterranean hinterland. The mild year-round climate, with over 300 days of sunshine, favours outdoor activities and water sports. A few kilometres inland, the whitewashed village of Mijas Pueblo, perched on the foothills of the Sierra, draws visitors for its traditional Andalusian architecture, flower-lined streets and the Virgen de la Peña sanctuary. The coastal area offers well-developed tourist facilities, Mediterranean-style restaurants and local markets. Its proximity to Málaga Airport, less than an hour's drive away, makes it a convenient choice for family holidays or beach breaks in Andalusia.
