Olofström

Olofström is a small town in Blekinge County, southern Sweden, best known for its Volvo Cars factory specialising in car body pressings, one of the region's main employers. The municipality stretches around Lake Halen, surrounded by the forests typical of southern Sweden, making it a good base for fishing, canoeing and hiking. The rolling, wooded landscape of Blekinge, sometimes called Sweden's garden, invites exploration through numerous trails and access points to the surrounding lakes. The nearby village of Jämshög is home to a medieval church, a reminder of the area's long history. The Baltic coast, with towns such as Sölvesborg and Karlshamn, lies around thirty kilometres away, offering easy access to the sea and its beaches. Olofström therefore makes a quiet base for exploring both the inland lake scenery and the Blekinge coastline, set in a calm, rural atmosphere away from the busier tourist areas of Sweden.
