Camaret sur Mer

Camaret-sur-Mer is a small harbour town on the Crozon peninsula in Finistère, Brittany. The village is known for its sillon, a natural sea wall protecting the harbour, and for the Vauban Tower, a 17th-century fortification listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Fortifications of Vauban. Nearby stands the Notre-Dame de Rocamadour chapel, historically used by sailors as a landmark. The harbour is also home to a ship graveyard, where abandoned wrecks recall Camaret's past as a major lobster-fishing port. The town enjoys a temperate oceanic climate, well suited to outdoor activities such as walking along the GR34 coastal path, sailing, diving and shellfish gathering. The surrounding area features classic Breton coastal scenery, including the nearby Pointe de Pen-Hir, with its cliffs and views over the Tas de Pois rock formations.
