Plogoff

Plogoff is a commune in Finistère, located at the tip of the Cap Sizun peninsula, at the westernmost edge of Brittany, right next to the Pointe du Raz. This protected natural site, one of the most iconic stretches of the French coastline, features dramatic cliffs battered by the Atlantic Ocean and remarkable views over the Iroise Sea. The town is also known for its history linked to the opposition against the planned construction of a nuclear power plant in the 1970s and 1980s, a significant episode in local memory. Plogoff's landscape is wild and coastal, ideal for walking along the customs officers' path (GR34), which follows the shoreline and leads to the Baie des Trépassés, another striking natural site nearby.
