Ste-Marine-Combrit

Ste-Marine-Combrit lies in southern Finistère, at the mouth of the River Odet, facing Bénodet and on the edge of the Pays Bigouden. This small fishing and sailing harbour has kept its authentic character, with granite houses and slipways where sailing boats and fishing vessels moor. The GR34 coastal path runs along the shoreline, allowing walkers to reach nearby beaches on foot, including the one at Pointe de Combrit, with views over the estuary and Bénodet bay. A seasonal ferry links Ste-Marine to Bénodet, offering a chance to explore the Odet, often described as one of France's most beautiful rivers thanks to its wooded banks. The surrounding area is well suited to sailing, kayaking and shellfish gathering, while Pont-l'Abbé, the historic capital of the Pays Bigouden known for its traditional lace headdresses, lies just a few kilometres away. The temperate oceanic climate makes the area pleasant from spring onwards. The region retains a strong maritime identity, local markets and a peaceful atmosphere, far removed from Brittany's busier seaside resorts.
