Damgan

Damgan is a seaside resort in the Morbihan department, southern Brittany, nestled between the Vilaine estuary and the Gulf of Morbihan. The town stretches along a varied coastline, alternating fine sandy beaches such as Kervoyal with wilder stretches around the Pointe de Pénerf, known for its oyster beds. The coastal footpath (GR34) allows visitors to walk along the shoreline, taking in nearby salt marshes and local fishing boats. Damgan mainly attracts families thanks to its supervised beaches in summer, local shops and generally relaxed atmosphere outside peak season. The surrounding area offers cycling routes towards Muzillac or La Roche-Bernard, as well as the chance to sample Pénerf oysters, a local speciality popular with seafood lovers. The temperate oceanic climate supports outdoor activities for much of the year.
