Massarosa

Massarosa is a municipality in Tuscany, in the province of Lucca, located in the Versilia area between the foothills of the Apuan Alps and the Tyrrhenian coast. Its territory extends over hillsides planted with olive groves and touches the shores of Lake Massaciuccioli, a protected wetland popular for birdwatching and quiet walks. The municipality includes several hamlets, among them Corsanico, known for its historic organ and preserved rural setting, as well as Quiesa and Stiava, closer to the lake. The local economy remains tied to olive oil production, a traditional activity in the region.
