Palaia

Palaia is a small rural town in Tuscany, in the province of Pisa, set within the scenic Valdera valley. Perched on a hillside surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and wooded countryside, the village retains a distinctly Tuscan character with its old lanes and tranquil atmosphere. The area is known for its wine, olive oil and truffle production, particularly near San Miniato, famous for its white truffles. Palaia makes a convenient base for exploring the surrounding region, with Volterra and its Etruscan remains, San Gimignano with its medieval towers, and Pisa with its famous Leaning Tower all within roughly an hour's drive.
