Bibbona

Bibbona is a medieval hilltop village in the Livorno Maremme area of Tuscany, just a few kilometres from the Tyrrhenian coast. Its historic centre retains narrow lanes, remnants of old town walls and the Church of Saints Hilary and John the Baptist, reflecting its Etruscan origins and later medieval development. The municipality stretches down to the Etruscan Coast, where Marina di Bibbona offers a seaside resort with fine sandy beaches shaded by pine woods, popular for swimming and coastal cycling. The rolling countryside inland, planted with vineyards and olive groves, is known for its wine production, particularly near the neighbouring Bolgheri area, as well as for locally pressed olive oil. The surrounding landscape provides a typically Tuscan rural setting, ideal for walking or cycling through hills and oak woodland. The Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers, makes the area popular for summer holidays, while spring and autumn are well suited to exploring the countryside and the nearby villages of the province of Livorno.
