San Vincenzo

San Vincenzo is a seaside resort on the Costa degli Etruschi, along the Tuscan coastline in the province of Livorno. The town is known for its long, fine sandy beach, backed by a pine grove that runs along the seafront and offers welcome shade during the warmer months. The small harbour and town centre are home to shops, restaurants and bars typical of a Tuscan summer destination. The coastline features an old watchtower, the Torre Nuova, a reminder of the area's historic role in coastal defence. San Vincenzo makes a convenient base for exploring the surrounding area, including the Baratti and Populonia archaeological park, with its Etruscan and Roman remains, and the Sterpaia nature reserve, popular for its wooded trails close to the shore. The town of Piombino, a little further south, offers ferry connections to the island of Elba. The Mediterranean climate, mild for much of the year, is well suited to outdoor pursuits, from swimming to cycling along the coast.
