Pineto

Pineto is a coastal town in the province of Teramo, in Abruzzo, on the Adriatic Sea. It is known for its long sandy beach, regularly awarded the Blue Flag, and for its seafront pine forest, the Pineta Dannunziana, which runs along the shore and provides shaded areas ideal for walking and cycling. The promenade, fitted with a cycle path, connects to neighbouring seaside resorts such as Silvi Marina and Roseto degli Abruzzi. The historic centre, set back on the hills, retains the rural character typical of the Abruzzo hinterland, with views over the surrounding countryside and distant mountains. Local cuisine focuses on seafood, particularly brodetto alla pescarese, along with fresh shellfish and regional specialities featuring olive oil and L'Aquila saffron. The Mediterranean climate, with warm, sunny summers, makes the area well suited to outdoor pursuits such as swimming, sailing and hiking inland. Pineto also serves as a convenient base for exploring the Trabocchi Coast and the historic villages scattered throughout Abruzzo.
