Silvi Marina

Silvi Marina is a seaside resort in Abruzzo, in the province of Teramo, on Italy's Adriatic coast. It is known for its long stretch of fine sandy beach, lined with well-equipped bathing establishments and locally referred to as the Riviera d'Argento (Silver Riviera). The modern town spreads along the seafront, while Silvi Alta, the historic hilltop core nearby, retains a distinctly medieval character with narrow lanes and sweeping views over the coastline and hinterland. Close by stands the Torre di Cerrano, a 17th-century watchtower that now houses a centre dedicated to the marine reserve bearing its name, which protects a section of the Adriatic shoreline. Nature enthusiasts can also reach the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park within a fairly short drive, offering a striking mountain contrast just a few kilometres from the sea. Local cuisine highlights fresh Adriatic seafood alongside Abruzzese specialities such as arrosticini, grilled skewers of lamb typical of the region. Silvi Marina enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate, well suited to seaside holidays from spring through autumn.
