Candelaria

Candelaria is a municipality on the eastern coast of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands, best known for its basilica dedicated to the Virgin of Candelaria, patron saint of the archipelago, which draws pilgrims throughout the year. On the seafront square stand the statues of the nine Guanche mencey kings, reflecting the island's pre-colonial history. The town stretches along the Atlantic coastline, featuring the volcanic black-sand beaches typical of Tenerife, such as Playa de la Viuda and Candelaria's own beach. The climate is subtropical and mild year-round, making it a pleasant spot for relaxing breaks in both winter and summer.
