Playa Blanca

Playa Blanca is a coastal resort town on the southern tip of Lanzarote, within the municipality of Yaiza in Spain's Canary Islands. Originally a small fishing village, it has grown into a lively seafront destination lined with restaurants, shops and the Rubicón Marina, from where ferries depart for Fuerteventura and Corralejo. The area enjoys a dry, sunny climate year-round, typical of the Canary Islands, with mild temperatures even during winter months. Nearby, the Papagayo beaches offer turquoise coves framed by volcanic cliffs, reachable by car or coastal footpaths. The surrounding landscape reflects Lanzarote's distinctive volcanic terrain, with dark volcanic soil contrasting against the deep blue of the Atlantic Ocean. Several golf courses and diving centres are located close by, drawing an international crowd, particularly from the UK and Germany. The town also serves as a convenient base for visiting Timanfaya National Park, roughly a thirty-minute drive away. Playa Blanca remains a popular choice for a relaxed, family-friendly holiday, offering a calmer atmosphere than some of the island's more bustling tourist resorts, while still providing easy access to its natural attractions.
