Portobello

Portobello di Gallura is a small coastal locality in northern Sardinia, part of the municipality of Trinità d'Agultu e Vignola, in the province of Sassari. It lies within a region renowned for its pink granite landscapes, Mediterranean scrubland and turquoise waters, close to well-known spots such as Costa Paradiso and Santa Teresa Gallura. The surrounding coastline alternates between secluded coves and fine sandy beaches, popular for swimming, diving and boat trips. The hinterland, hilly and dotted with wind-sculpted rock formations, is well suited to walking and wildlife spotting. Northern Sardinia enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild winters, meaning the area is busiest between June and September. Local cuisine focuses on seafood, sheep's milk cheeses and Sardinian cured meats, typically paired with regional wines such as Vermentino. Portobello offers a quiet base from which to explore the Gallura area, combining unspoilt nature, traditional villages and easy access to ferry connections to Corsica from nearby Santa Teresa Gallura.
