Budoni

Budoni is a coastal town in north-eastern Sardinia, in the province of Sassari, close to San Teodoro and the Costa Smeralda. The surrounding coastline offers several beaches with pale sand and turquoise water, such as Spiaggia delle Vacche and Cala Capriciolli, along with the coves of Capo Coda Cavallo, where wild boars can sometimes be spotted near the shore in the early evening. The better-known beaches of La Cinta and Lo Impostu, often very busy in summer, typically charge for parking and beach access. In San Teodoro, a local market is worth a visit for regional produce. Budoni also makes a good base for exploring the Gulf of Orosei, passing through Dorgali and Cala Gonone as far as Santa Maria Navarrese, via the SS125 road that cuts through the limestone Supramonte mountains. To the north, the Costa Smeralda and the La Maddalena archipelago, reachable by boat, add further options for day trips from the area. Altogether, the region combines wild beaches, mountain scenery and more touristy spots within easy reach.
