Costa Rei

Costa Rei is a coastal resort in south-eastern Sardinia, part of the municipality of Muravera in the province of South Sardinia. Developed from the 1960s onwards, it is known for its long stretch of fine white sand beach, bordered by shallow turquoise waters typical of this part of the coast. The area behind the beach, marked by dunes and umbrella pines, contrasts with the surrounding Mediterranean scrubland. The location is popular for sailing, diving and snorkelling, as well as long cycling routes along the shoreline. Nearby, Capo Ferrato forms a rocky headland offering sea views and encompassing a well-preserved natural setting. The resort tends to be quieter than other tourist areas on the island, with accommodation largely concentrated along the seafront. The Mediterranean climate, featuring hot, dry summers, draws most visitors between June and September. Muravera itself, the administrative town, lies a short distance inland, while Villasimius, another well-known seaside resort, is situated further south along the coast.
